Phame Machinist Program

Students and staff at PhAME Inc., a Philadelphia machinist-training program, received a present just before the holidays last month that they didn’t want: news that their school was shutting its doors.

Unfortunately, the well-respected institution has run out of money. That’s a shame because the program has produced 151 graduates since its founding in 1997, and those graduates have found jobs at 79 companies in the area.
